• I’m fairly certain Eric Neel of ESPN.com would have been breaking all sorts of NCAA rules if he had blogged during the games (from within the arena) – so the guy gets the rest of the night (also known as THE GAMES) off with this line ender to his 5 CST post: “Enjoy the games. That’s it for today’s blog.

I’ll be back Sunday with a preview of the game and the blog will return in full force Monday morning.” Boy, really pushing the limits with this thing, eh? As we’ve said before, What. A. Joke. I’m unemployed and I’m working more than this clown.
• Do we have any stats on how L’ville fares in the all-black unis?
• You usually get the Final Four jitters, at least up until the first TV timeout, but play has been pretty solid half-way through.
• The Baze checked in to report, after 15 minutes of basketball, he like L’ville. “Pitino, David. Pitino,” he said. Don’t ever call this guy Bandwagon Basil.
• What happened to the script signatures for the players during introductions? That was a unique Final Four thing we always liked.
• Time to offer our condolences to the Chicken Man: Frank Perdue, a tough man who tenderly passed on earlier this week. (Forever confusing people even more that the Chicken Guy was actually The Pope.)
As a tribute, here are three other things it takes a tough man to do:
1. Accept Kevin Paul Dupont’s new “On the loose” occasional column that “will likely strike a chord with Globe sports readers.” Just how ‘on the loose’ can the puckhead be, when he stays close to home with, of course, a hockey story? Pretty soon, the Globe staff will be one big jumble of general columnists and feature writers.
2. Stomach the mid-court ad inserted by the NCAA into this Final Four.
3. Eat Boba balls.
• Old friend, and longtime Jeff Ruland compadre, Tommy Abatemarco checked in with a surprise call the other night. “The Alphabet Man,” as Ruland calls him, finds himself as an assistant for the Sacramento Monarchs these days, making the ‘narchs visit to Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun on June 28, a must-see. Or as much as a must-see as any WNBA game can be. Rules is buying. . .
