SHOTS RESPONDED:
. . . ESPN smartly led into the Theo Presser with a rerun of Tuesday Night’s Outside the Lines with Bob Ley and guests, Ken Rosenthal of FOXsports.com and Tony Mazz from the Herald. Big Baseball Writer Edge: Mazz, by a Manny Moon Ball mile. Mazz has become a truly legit national media face and authority. The ‘EEI knuckleheads can make fun of him all they want, but he’s the most polished of the 40-somethings in the market.
Schill appeared and was bitching a bit about Chris Correnti and the lack of player input that seems to be integral to the Trio’s business plan.
OTL thrives on stories like this and took the broad, nationally-appealing approach and ignored the Globe tie-in angle, that surely is of most interest within earshot of WEEI. However, if the story extends a few more days, that angle will be brought national and things will get a bit more filthy.
. . . Shots run through the Comcast cable line-up that serves Hull managed to find the presser on the following TV outlets: NECN, ESPN, ESPNNEWS, CBS4, ABC5, NBC7, FOX25, NESN. CSPAN, FOX News and CNN passed. As did Bravo, the Queer Eye guys must not have the juice Millar thought they did.
. . . So the gorilla suit story (that also ran in the Herald) was true. That will be the enduring image through this entire episode and forever more. The metaphorical nature of young Theo escaping his job inside a hairy, ape suit cannot ever be justly explained.
