NESN today announced that SportsDesk vixen, Hazel Mae has had her contract extended with the network. Terms of the extension were not included in the release (below) and NESN spokesman Gary Roy informed Shots that company policy prohibits the release of employee contract specifics. Also getting re-upped by the Sox/Bruins-owned ‘net is ever-terrific Tom Caron, who has been with NESN for over a decade.
Mae’s been rumored for months to be looking to “go national,” but it appears none of those supposed talks led to anything of substance. While Mae has adjusted, evolved and matured in her 24 months at NESN, it’s doubtful she is ready for the “big time” just yet. She is still cliche-ridden in her copy and a work-in-progress with her in-game updates. But her evocative wardrobe and her uncanny ability to stay front and center in the “Inside Track” surely serves her employer well.
. . . Deadspin Will has struck again with this link to what seems to be a legit Schilling posting on a NY message board under the familiar tag “Gehrig38.” Tremendous stuff - again assuming it really was Schill. Maybe one of the clubhouse bloggers could find out for us and post this afternoon before the Royals get sacrificed by Manny?
The exchange includes great humor, including Schilling getting a lesson in using the “quote” function to spearate questions form answers. I’m guessing a lot of this Schilling has already said, but the Beckett answers seem especially poignant.
This will be interesting to see if Old Media picks up on the New Media adventure into enemy territory by Schill. Sons of Sam might be losing a prominent poster - the NY boarders seem a whole lot smarter and braver and bring out the best in Curt on the Keyboard.
