• The Globies are ganging up on the Yellow Boxers with Boston.com staffers contributing to the Extra Bases blog, in addition to Cafardo and Edes. It’s giving them a big edge in the Dice-K Press Blog War over the Clubhouse Insider which has been idle since 4:03 p.m.

• The newscasts started breaking away from the presser after the first question in Japanese. NECN stayed the longest, after, of course, NESN who will likely stay with the entire affair, right through 5:45.

• A Paul Burton reported from Fenway for CBS4 - is this the long lost, Burton brother? Do tell. . .

• The foreign media always, no matter what setting, seem to ask better questions with more melodious voices.

• Dice-K wants to meet Schilling, but it appears he’ll need to settle for Mayor Menino at this particular moment.

• Dunkin’ Donuts got its backdrop investment back 10 fold in this one, single, press conference.
