• NESN’s Tom Caron put the length of the presser at 48 minutes and came back to the Matsuzaka Marathon studio alongside marathon man, Don Orsillo.
• NESN and TC had Mayor Mumbles Menino on the NESN phone. The Mayor almost sounded intelligent, if not intelligible - until he said there “were about fifty of ‘em” (the Japanese) waiting at Fenway. “It’s about tourism story,” was about as Howie Carr -ish as MM got. “It’s good for all of us.”
• How does a high school tounrament in ANY country EVER draw comparisons to the biggest baseball stage in America? I’m just not sure that a bunch of teenagers playing baseball translates favorably into Yankees-Sox.
• Time to breathe a bit and to take a break. How incredible have these past 48 hours been?
