• It’s 2:07 by the Shots’ clock and still no beginning to the teleconference. This is how we know it’s not a Doc Chuck production - his Dice-K masterpiece was synchronized with the atomic clock and started precisely on time. We’re guessing the delay is so Jason Wolfe can milk this thing for all its worth. Perhaps he’s busy reprimanding some of his hosts for being childish and inane.

NOT!

• We’re curious as to how the three-man booth will operate. From what Dave O’Brien was able to tell us in his email, there will never be more than two announcers working a game, but the combinations could go any way. We doubt that Entercom would use all three at any one time and we’re wondering how listeners will react to having to distinguish between three voices.

The inlcusion of Geffner is clearly a win for the Larry Lucchino contingent of the Sox, who have grown enamored with “Geff” over the years. The hiring of O’Brien is likely the doings of both John Henry (who had O’Brien in Florida with him) and Entercom, who wanted an established name.
