• The breakdown of games that will be on WEEI 850 AM was also announced. Jason Wolfe said, “We’ve chosen to put Wednesday night games on WEEI, weekday afternoon games are also on WEEI as well and the only other game is August 17 night game, which is the day of the NESN Jimmy Fund Radio Fundraiser.”

All other games will be heard on sister station, and new flagship, WRKO 680 AM.

• The teleconference ended at 2:38 p.m.

• Sox COO Mike Dee explained that the TV broadcasting rights for overseas (ie Japan) have been conveyed to Major League Baseball and that most of the international broadcast rights reside with MLB.

That said, don’t expect Japanese radio broadcasts of every Sox game.

• O’Brien said that he attended South River Elementary in Marshfield and then junior high in that south shore town, as well, before moving to New Hampshire for high school. Castiglione’s wife, Janice, started teaching elementary school after O’Brien had already been through the system.

He also brought up his time in Quincy and on Wollaston Beach (a poor man’s Nantasket Beach).

• Geffner lives in Lexington, he said on the call.

• This concludes our live-blog of the new Sox radio team announcement and also concludes a busy week in Shots history. We thank you for your patronage. It’s a pleasure serving you all.
