While Entercom’s sports leader, WEEI 850 AM continues to promote a show that doesn’t exist, there does appear to be a slight change in strategy with the print ads that have been running in the Boston Herald (see below).![]()
As Shots pointed out last week, the station has continued to run an ad campaign (and spoofs of said ad campaign) during the four month absence of Gerry Callahan from the morning drive show. Even more incredulously, the station continues to run D&C ads, even as the Suits are locking out the duo over, presumably, stalled negotiations to retain the pair.
Tuesday’s crudely designed (heavy on the black space) spot continues to claim that there is such a thing as the Dennis & Callahan show and also boasting of the fact that it is “Still the #1 morning show in Boston.”
Not for long with those dull ads and even duller fill-in hosts!
The different ads may be no more than a part of the regular rotation that has been running in the Herald, but the fact remains that media giant Entercom is knowingly advertising a show that, at the current time, does not exist with hosts who are locked out.
. . . And the “swing batta” broken glass? Must’ve been from a ball batted by John Dennis when he discovered he’d been bamboozled by both Entercom and Nassau Broadcasting.
. . . Still no news to report on the future of D&C at ‘EEI, but at least the 3-headed Dennis monster is gone for now!
. . . Who is designing these ads and where do they get all their black crayons?
