We’re mere minutes away from the return of John Dennis and Gerry Callahan to the WEEI 850 AM airwaves and a lonely (Red Sox) Nation turns its eyes to the lightning rod hosts who are back together after an almost five month lapse in mutual appearances.

Before we get started on a first-of-its-kind live blog to chronicle the initial minutes of the return, here are the links beyond Shots’ comprehensive weekend coverage of the moments leading up to the “event”:

• Ever-elusive Jason Wolfe deemed it a good time to comment (via email) to the Boston Globe’s Susan Bickelhaupt and grab his credit for getting the duo back in the Wolfe’s Den. (A note to Bickelhaupt that the pair’s contracts were not only “due to expire” this month – they did expire. Last week. Welcome to the coverage of the saga, have a good day.)

•  The Herald’s Jessica Heslam, who has been on the story with reasonable regularity, has the deets for her paper and also mentions the competing offer from an FM station which Shots has been reporting.

. . . Let it be noted the lead-in for the D&C return was an ‘Instant Replay’ from Friday’s “Dale and Holley Show” of an interview with the New York Post’s Mark Cannizaro. before that there was some BC talk with Lenny Megliola and a caller who is ready to start pouring the Matt Ryan Hall of Fame bust.

. . . With all this silliness, let’s take a moment to honor the memory of a former radio show host at WBZ, Paul Sullivan.

• We’ll be back after the top-of-the-hour flash (by Jon Meterparel, we’re guessing) and the return of our heroes!
