Have you read Jackie McMullan’s column after Will McDonah’s passing? Just read it and then come back and try to say that she is not a terrific writer. The Globe has lost too many excellent writers. Jackie is a pro. We will all miss her.

I could not agree more with Jim. I find myself more embarassed by my fellow Boston sports fans every day. Have any of you even ever read a Jackie column? No other writer on the Boston sports scene was able to get such personal, often emotional interviews. Have you all forgotten about the Ted Johnson interview? Sadly this was overshadowed by SpyGate but in my opinion it represents a much larger problem in the football world.

Big Yaz … you’re right on with that comment. It is nothing but negativity and cheap shots starting from the head blogger down.

These commenters seem to find not one positive thing to catch and run with.

They hate almost every sports anchor, reporter and columnist - save for Bob Ryan and Dan Roche - for no apparent reason but juvenile logic.

I have been reading for a while and the blame has to start with Scott - he’s has an issue with almost every sports personality. Don’t know why. Maybe they stole his favorite Wally Doll.

Actually Jacie Mac never bothered me too much, so I’m disappointed that it was her not Shank that took the buy out … Shank continues to mail in columns that remind me of missives from the Una Bomber.
