I usually love your writing but I think the premise in this is way off. I don't understand how you can compare the Pats and Memphis in any way. Memphis wasn't favored by much and Memphis had already lost.
Plus Memphis was kind of the "left out" team to start with, with the other three traditional powerhouses in the Final Four.

To stamp “National Champion Coach” on the jacket would boost sales and give the book a bit more oomph, but there is no better motivation that rising from the ashes of a loss. Especially a tragic one as this, having been played out on a national stage, overtime, playing at the highest level.

A coach like Calipari can and does bring out the best in his players, and also to many of the people that his life touches, maybe that's just his way - I don't know the man.

You have a great opportunity here not only as a writer, but also as an observer. I imagine many in your profession envy you and wish you well on this task at hand.

Take this loss and make it a positive in your mind. See how the coach processes it in his life and uses it in the context of his motivational oversight.

I think there might be a much bigger positive in this than you think.

The best of luck -- you'll do fine.
