The funniest thing about Casale’s rant is that the only verifiable claim he made - that Wes Welker’s injury was more serious than let on and that he might miss the season - has alredy turned out to be wrong. Welker came off PUP Saturday, began practicing, and said he was 100%.

Is Doug Bailey somehow implying that the only candidates he has to pick from are either folks that have already been “through a public flogging” or ones that are doing something else wrong and will eventually get caught? The intelligent, provocative host who has no Borges-like tarnish on their resume and isn’t doing their work in a less-than-honest manner doesn’t exist to them?

Here’s a strong vote for Lew and Mike. I’m not a relative or friend but the few times I heard them on the radio they were everything I want to hear regarding Boston sports. They’re smart, passionate and don’t create non-stories just to ruffle feathers. These guys at times seem to genuinely hate each other for their viewpoints but at least they can articulate them.

Also the thought of having Ron Borges and his highly successful internet web site (muffled laughter…) on the airs would spell the end of ESPN in this town. A leopard can’t change their spots and he’s a miserable jerk. The epitome of a loser. EEI needs competition but not the kind Borges brings to the table.
