Mike Lynch’s ‘Patriots All Access’ show was must-see TV last year, but this year…not so much. The collective deflating sound was palpable as WEEI, WCVB and all the others realized that visions of ad-revenue sugar plums evaporated barely 15 minutes into the season. Lynch had better hope the radio gig becomes his because he’s way too long-in-the-tooth as a sports anchor and ‘All Access’ will herald the sound of crickets hereon in.

Farm Aid is to help the FAMILY farmer, not the overblown conglomerates. The cost is high because the cost to grow the product is high.

Fun facts to know and tell:
1) US net farm income this year is $95.7 biliion, a record. That’s 10% more than the previous record, which was set last year.
2) Corn hit $7.80 a bushel this year; it’s come down by a third–and it’s STILL at what would have been an all-time high until 2008. Similarly with soybeans, wheat and rice.
3) What the hell do we need FarmAid for? Next, I suppose Neil, Willie and Cougar will play a benefit concert for the poor, embattled mortgage lenders.
