Hardly surprised but still saddened to hear of CN8's demise. I stopped watching the 11:00pm "Out of Bounds" after they moved John Carchedi and Phil Burton off the anchor desk, hope that Carchedi can find a new home in the Boston market but with all the media cutbacks that seems unlikely.

I even used to occasionally watch the old "Sports Pulse" show with the erstwhile Ed Berliner, who being an out-of-towner was unfortunately never going to make it in Boston.

So they put people out of work, raise our cable bills again (twice this year in NH now), and post a profit in the last quarter. Good times for Comcast management and shareholders. How I hate this company.

Huge blow to those of us who follow college hockey. Sure, some of their announcing and camera angles aren't up to snuff, but at least they regularly gave airtime to BU and UVM hockey. Any idea what will happen to the contracts they had with both schools?

I also blogged about the impact of this on BU hockey - http://katherinehas.wordpress.com/2008/11/06/well-this-just-stinks-cn8-shutting-down-according-to-sources/

Keep up the good work, Shots.
